'The Voice': Gwen Stefani Officially Joins in Season 7, Shakira and Usher Lose Another Singer

The No Doubt singer has confirmed that she will replace Christina Aguilera as a coach in the fall, but the 'Ain't No Other Man' singer will return for season 8.

It's official; Gwen Stefani has signed up for "The Voice" season 7. She will join the show's veterans Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as well as new coachPharrell Williams in the panel for the upcoming fall installment, replacing Christina Aguilera. TheNo Doubt singer confirmed the news by posting on Instagram, "it's true! gx @nbcthevoice," along with a photo of her recreating "The Voice" iconic hand gesture.

Xtina congratulated her, tweeting, "So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani! Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest." NBC has confirmed that the currently expecting songstress will return for season 8.

Host Carson Daly also announced Stefani's addition to the line-up during the Tuesday, April 29 results show. "Before we start the show, I want to make a very, very big announcement for us here -- hold on, listen!" he said at the beginning of the episode.

"This all just happened moments ago, because we're live, and we're very happy to officially announce that two superstars will be joining the next season in these coaches' chairs: Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani will be added to the Voice family. We're so happy to have them join our ever-growing Voice family. They're both incredible people, insanely talented."

Both artists are set to appear in the May 5 telecast as musical performers. Pharrell will sing his new single "Come Get It Bae", while Gwen will cater the crowd with "Hollaback Girl", which was produced by Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Pharrell.

In the April 29 outing, two more singers were cut. Bria Kelly of Team Usher, Tess Boyer of Team Shakira and Kat Perkins of Team Adam were in the bottom three. The three sang for live, with Bria giving it all during her rendition of "Crazy On You" by Heart. Tess looked emotional when performing "Who Knew" by Pink, and Kat rocked out the stage with "Paris (Ooh La La)" by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.

Kat got the instant save, meaning Bria and Tess were eliminated. Kat is on the Top 8 along with Audra McLaughlin, Josh Kaufman, Christina Grimmie, Jake Worthington, Delvin Choice, Kristen Merlin and Sisaundra Lewis.

Also in the same episode, Usher teamed up with his proteges to sing "Always On The Run" by Lenny Kravitz, while Shakira and her finalists performed her own song "The One Thing". Both coaches now only have one singer left in their team each.

Let's hope her HITS don't lie! Shakira shakes her hips in front of fellow judges to celebrate landing a singer on The Voice

Shakira proves that her hips don't lie on Tuesday as she celebrated getting one over fellow judge Adam Levine on The Voice.
The Latina superstar had battled it out with Maroon 5 frontman Adam to land country singer Lindsay Bruce on the final round of the blind auditions.
Shakira had powerful allies with fellow coaches Blake Shelton and Usher battling on her behalf.

They even told Lindsay that Blake's country superstar wife Miranda Lambert would help coach her if she picked Shakira.
After Shakira got her selection, she stood in front of Adam and celebrated the way she knows best - swaying her famous hips in a sexy dance.
Judging by Adam's face - not to mention the expressions worn by Blake and Usher - it would seem that it was not received as exactly punishment.

Adam certainly seemed to find it more enjoyable than an earlier victory dance main rival Blake gave after beating him to land another singer - a dance that ended with an impressive moonwalk back to his chair.
Adam had every right to feel ganged-up on.
The teasing started when he told Lindsay he was clearly not a female like Shakira - to which Blake joked that he did 'sound like a girl sometimes', and Shakira addied: 'And sometimes behaves like one.'

Adam initially tried fighting back, and after Usher strongly advised the contestant to go with Shakira, he quipped: 'Yeah, listen to the guy who's never won telling the girl who's never won that you should go with her.'
But his battle appeared lost when Blake - who could not pick country singer Lindsay because he had already filled his team - backed-up Shakira's claims that his wife would be on board to help her.
'Shakira's got Miranda's phone number, she's gonna call her, she's gonna work with her - pick Shakira,' Blake said.

Lindsay ended up following his advice.
'You know what - three on one ain't a fair fight,' Adam complained, calling Lindsay 'really unique' and admitting the he was sad to lose her.
Shakira was good to her word.

Previews for the upcoming battle rounds show that Miranda has joined Shakira as guest assistant coach, with Adam having Aloe Blacc, Blake teaming up with The Band Perry and Usher getting Jill Scott.
Blake's victory dance came after he won Kaleigh Glanton, the only singer to get all four coaches turning to try to get her.
The 20-year-old from Wichita, Kansas - a fitness fanatic who bragged that she 'could definitely take on Usher when it comes to Crossfit' - had Adam turning almost as soon as she started singing Creedence Clearwater Revival's Have You Seen The Rain, with the other three following soon afterward.
Shakira told her she 'adores the sound' of her voice, calling it 'quirky'.
'If I'm quirky, and you're a little quirky, we should quirk up,' Shakira joked, adding: 'I should be your coach.'

But Blake won her over by attacking Adam's claims that she still needed a lot of work.
'You already have a style, and I love your style. You just need a spotlight, and I'm the guy to put a spotlight on you,' he told her. 'Let's do it.'
Shakira's biggest shock came when she lost student nurse Brittnee Camelle to Usher - despite having both Blake and Adam lobbying for her.
She also felt she had a powerful argument to win over the 23-year-old from Lawrenceville near Atlanta, Georgia, persuading her she needed someone who knew what was needed to make a full package as a female artist, including 'how to move, what to wear'.

Brittnee sang a powerful rendition of Demi Lovato's Skyscraper and appeared to lean toward Shakira, saying she 'wants to be an inspiration to women'.
Usher effectively coutnered.
'I want you to lead me, too - I really think we could go far, not only in this competition but in your career,' he said.
Shakira was left shaking her head in disbelief when she lost, admitting to Usher she pulled out 'everything'.

'Usher's from Atlanta, I'm from Atlanta - something was telling me to go with him,' Brittnee explained later, adding that the show means she loses her scholarship at college.
'School can always wait but you only get one chance to follow your dream,' she said excitedly.
Adam was the last coach to find his final team member, and let several great singers pass.
It took just seconds of 19-year-old Caleb Elder's take on soul classic Groove Me for the Maroon 5 star to press his buzzer - making Caleb almost lose it with laughter.
Levine was even happier when he heard where Caleb, from Appomattox, Virginia, works - in a doughnut shop.

'You know how Usher has his team do calisthenics and pushups and stuff - we'll just eat donuts in my team,' he told the hopeful, who leaped off the stage and gave Adam a joyful hug.
Later, Adam said: 'Caleb's got a really wicked cool personality, he'll be an interesting sort of wild card.
'But free donuts for my team - that's a huge get.'
As always, many hopefuls didn't make the cut - but at least one still had the time of his life.

All the coaches were impressed with how happy Beau Tomas, a 27-year-old dad of twins from Frisco, Colorado, handled rejection - with a massive smile at the experience he'd had.
'Chair turn or not, that was a dream come true,' he said of having performed You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne.
With the blind auditions over and all the teams filled, the coaches all believed they had a chance of winning.

'Team Blake could not be more diverse - I have R'n'B, I have country, I have pop, I have a duo, I have rock,' Shelton said. 'The winner of season six of The Voice is on Team Blake.'
Usher was equally confident as he said: 'I don't know who from my team is gonna win - but I'm gonna win.'
He added: 'I came back because I wanted to win. I don't want to get painted into a corner, so I have a very eclectic team. I just wanna know there's some fight in the artist, and how far they are going to go. That's why I wait for great.'
Shakira was also pleased that her team was 'well rounded', adding: 'I have pop singers, I have R'n'B soul singers - and that was kind of my plan this season, to get the best of each world.'
Meanwhile Adam said: 'Do I have a winner on my team? Absolutely. Now I have to focus on keeping my team the best.'

As I Lay Dying singer pleads guilty to murder plot

Tim LambesisLambesis approached his trainer for help in killing his wife

Tim Lambesis, the singer for US metal band As I Lay Dying, has pleaded guilty to attempting to hire an undercover agent to murder his estranged wife.
The singer, who initially denied the charge, could face nine years in prison for the attempted contract killing.
Lambesis, 32, who formed As I Lay Dying in San Diego in 2000, has sold more than a million albums.
He remains free on $2m (£1.25m) bail until he is sentenced 2 May in Vista Superior Court, California.
Lambesis had asked a personal trainer at his gym to help him get rid of his wife Meggan, claiming she had restricted his visits with their three adopted children after they separated in September 2012.
He was arrested in May 2013 after prosecutors said he met a sheriff's deputy posing as a hitman, called Red, and handed over $1,000 (£600) along with his wife's address and front door security code.
The undercover agent, San Diego County Sheriff's Officer Howard Bradley, testified last year that Lambesis met him at an Oceanside bookshop in May and said he wanted his wife "gone".
Bradley said he asked Lambesis directly if he wanted his wife killed, and the singer replied, "Yes, I do."

As I Lay Dying have released six albums, including 2007's An Ocean Between Us, which reached number eight on the Billboard charts.
