Mara Wilson has revealed she will not be reprising her childhood role in the Mrs Doubtfire sequel.

The former child actress, who was just 6-years-old when starred as the daughter Natalie Hillard in the 1993 hit film, has taken to Twitter to confirm that she won't be joining Robin Williams in the planned sequel. 

26-year-old Wilson wrote: ''They haven't asked me to be in it, and I think it would be weird if they did! I don't act much and am not a cute little kid anymore.

''The only reason I've said I don't want to do it is because of the literal hundreds of people asking me about it.

''I loved being in 'Doubtfire', and I'm grateful every day I had that experience. I met my sister-for-life Lisa [Jakub] there. I had a great time.

''But I don't think a sequel makes sense plotwise, and I don't think there'd be a part for me even if I did still act and was interested.''

While the idea of a sequel has been in the pipeline since 2001, when Bonnie Hunt was enlisted to pen a script, Director Chris Columbus and Williams never felt any of the drafts by Hunt or other writers were strong enough.

The project came back to life again earlier this year when Elf writer David Berenbaum became involved.

No investigation needed. It's true, Matthew McConaughey will not return for Season Two of "True Detective."

"No, no, we won't be back for season two," he told reporters backstage at the Academy Awards Sunday night. "Season one was finite."

Fresh off his Best Actor Oscars win, the "Dallas Buyers Club" star, whose character in the HBO series is investigator Rustin Cohle, joked about the dark and dreary detective drama airing during the end of the awards show.

"I think there's an episode probably airing right now," he said. "Has anyone seen it? I made the thing, read the script, knew it upside and down. I'm  not sure what happens in tonight's episode."

HBO has yet to make an official announcement about the highly successful show's second season or whether co-star Woody Harrelson, who plays detective Martin Hart, will return. The show's premiere attracted 2.3 million viewers, the network's biggest debut since 2010, according to E! News.

However, the show's creator, Nic Pizzolatto, previously hinted at a "True Detective" return in 2015, which could include an ever-changing cast and storyline similar to "American Horror Story."

"There could be a season that's much more of a widespread conspiracy thriller, a season that's a small town murder mystery, a season where nobody is murdered and it's a master criminal versus a rogue detective or something," he explained during a recent Television Critics Association press tour.

"Even the title, 'True Detective,' is meant to be, of course, purposefully somewhat generic," he continued. "The word 'true' can also mean honorable and authentic and things like that. So as long as there is some crime in there, I think the series format can approach it."

Despite McConaughey's departure, the film actor anticipated his return to cable television after years on the big screen.

"It's a different time in television," he said in a previous interview. "All I knew is I read the first two episodes and I was in. And I was just, at the time, looking for quality."
