Sean Lowe, previous ‘Bachelor,’ offers advice to Juan Pablo Galavis: 'You owe it to the fans' to open up

Last season’s bachelor said he agreed with Galavis’ decision to not rush his romance with a proposal, but didn’t agree with other choices he made on the show

Sean Lowe offered a bit of advice to Juan Pablo Galavis — from one "Bachelor" to another.
After the awkward conclusion to Galavis' tenure on the long-running romance reality series, and the subsequent fallout for the Venezuelan soccer star's decisions, season 17 winner Lowe, 29, took to Twitter with his reaction.

"My take on last night: I commend JP on not proposing if he isn't ready," Lowe wrote. "And he certainly shouldn't feel pressured to say 'I love you.'"
Galavis, 32, didn't feel it was right on Monday night's finale.

"But I don't feel there's a need to propose to somebody if I don't feel 100%," he told People magazine. "I didn't know Nikki. I want to know more, a lot more."

"It's our start now," he said. "We can get to know each other fully. We're not in a rush."

It was also reported that Galavis "was angry" with the show's producers, because they "gave him no privacy" and wanted to know what he was doing "all the time."

Lowe, who recently married his "Bachelor" bride Catherine Giudici in a televised special, didn't agree that it was a smart move.

"As the Bachelor, you can't say I want to keep my feelings private," Lowe wrote on Twitter.

"You owe it to the fans and network to open up. That's the job."

Lowe and Giudice were in the audience during the post-show special, and echoed the same sentiment.
“I don’t want to burst your bubble but it’s not private after the show,” Lowe said.

“I wouldn’t know what to do if I was Nikki,” Giudici said. “I’m glad that they’re happy… but don’t slap the hand that fed you.”
Addressing a fan's remark that "not everyone is cut out for the public attention" on Twitter Wednesday, Lowe responded saying "then don't be the Bachelor."

Last gasp: Juan Pablo posts lovey-dovey Nikki Ferrell video

We sure would love to know what was going through Nikki Ferrell’s mind when Juan Pablo Galavis handed her a rose and said “I like you a lot” during the “Bachelor” finale Monday night. Yes sir, we’d sure like to know.

In the past, we’ve always had the chance to ask questions like that.
Whenever someone from Kansas City wins a reality TV show – think David Cook on “American Idol” and Tate Stevens on “The X Factor” – we work with the studio or production company to score a post-win interview.
Not this time.
“Nikki is not available for interviews at this time. I will let you know if that changes. Thanks,” was the answer we got from a publicist to our request for some Nikki time after Monday’s finale.
Nikki and Juan Pablo, not surprisingly, don’t want anything to do with the media after that awkward, dramatic finale that left many “Bachelor” viewers hating Juan Pablo and wondering what kind of woman would want to be with him.
The two skipped the traditional round of post-finale appearances on “Good Morning America” and other shows Tuesday. A source told TMZ that Juan Pablo refused to go on “GMA” and that he will not do any more publicity for the show.
According to TMZ the show’s producers, who didn’t like Juan Pablo’s actions during the entire season, were just fine with him refusing to do post-show interviews.
All the public got was an Instagram picture that Juan Pablo posted showing the two of them free at last, free at last, together on some city street.
Juan Pablo knows what people are saying about him, because he also posted this: “Throw me to the wolves and I'll come back leading the pack.”
Nurse Nikki, who we think is still employed by Children’s Mercy, is feeling the heat, too.
She shot back at the haters as well – many of them Hollywood celebrities who follow the show – on Twitter: “Being in the public eye does NOT give you the right to say what you want to me. Your words hurt no matter what. Be ashamed of yourselves.”
Unfortunately for Nikki, being in the public eye does give viewers the right to say what they want about her. That’s the way the TV game is played.
On Twitter, Juan Pablo posted a lovey-dovey video montage of their moments from the show with this message: “Amor @Nikki_Ferrell, glad that we stay TRUE to ourselves and we are REAL... This is for YOU"
A source tells E! News that “for now, she’s happy just dating him.”
After Monday’s show, Juan Pablo, Nikki and a few of the former contestants, including Sharleen Joynt, reportedly went to dinner together before the couple headed to his hometown of Miami for a few days.
“She will be staying with him. After that, they're headed to the Dominican Republic for a vacation,” a source told E!.
And after that?
“He told her to pick a city and they'd move there," says one insider. "Not sure how realistic that is, but that's what he said to her.
"She really loves her job and she's not going to quit until she knows it's really serious.”
So until we see the two of them walking hand-in-hand down at the Power & Light District, we’ll stay busy doing important journalism here at Stargazing World Headquarters.

‘The Bachelor’ recap: Families grill Juan Pablo during awkward hometown dates

Juan Pablo spent the week traveling the country meeting the families of his four remaining ladies—but some of the families were not exactly impressed with “The Bachelor” process.

Andi Dorfman took Juan Pablo on a day date to a gun range in Atlanta before meeting her family for dinner.

Andi’s dad, Hy, was immediately skeptical after hearing about the couple’s lack of alone time throughout the show.

“You were down to eight [women] and you hadn’t had a one-on-one [date] yet?” he asked.

“I saw the sense of disapproval on my dad’s face in the first five minutes,” Andi said.

“He may be infatuated with her, but he may also be infatuated with another girl on the show,” Hy told the cameras.  “Right now this is all fun and games.”

During their solo chat, Hy told Juan Pablo that is unwilling to accept him into their family until he is in love with only one woman.

“Reverse roles for a moment. If somebody came to you dating three other people and asked, ‘If I do, will you?’” Hy said. “As far as accepting you, my answer to you is that I won’t answer you.”

“I don’t want you to get hurt,” Hy told Andi later in the night. “I have concerns about things rapidly unfolding too fast.”

Later, in a bizarre exchange during Clare Crawley’s hometown date in Sacramento, Calif., one of her sisters kept angrily interrupting Clare’s discussion with her mother about Juan Pablo and refused to leave.

“You know Momma is very traditional,” the sister, Laura, said.  “I know you got all these cameras here, but I don’t care.  I’m not going to let you manipulate Momma.  You’re not respecting Mom.”

Laura told her little sister that she needs to be “realistic” about the process and didn’t think the family was ready to give Juan Pablo their blessing.

“I don’t think we’re there yet,” Laura said.

“I follow my heart and I’m not just doing this because I’m on a show,” Clare said. “I just want you guys to please trust.”

“I’m fuming that Laura is speaking for my mom,” Clare told the cameras, her eyes filling up with tears. “I’m trying to have this heart-to-heart with my mom and we’re having our moment. Laura is standing to the side and overseeing my talk.”

The night was salvaged a bit when Laura attempted to smooth things over with Juan Pablo, finally leaving the Bachelor alone with Mrs. Crawley to talk.

“Laura can be difficult, but Juan Pablo handed it very well,” Clare said. “If he can look past my crazy family, I would love to marry him.”

Over in Kansas City, Mo., Nikki Ferrell’s father seemed a bit more open.

Nikki took Juan Pablo out for barbeque and bull riding before meeting her family, who seemed pretty pleased with the Bachelor.

“I would prefer that if your heart isn’t it in it that you do not ask her to marry you,” Tom Ferrell told Juan Pablo, but later adding: “We trust Nikki to make that decision and whatever one she makes, we’ll accept it wholeheartedly.”

Renee Oteri’s mother was equally cautious but pleased overall.

Renee took Juan Pablo to her son’s Little League game in Sarasota, Fla., before heading to meet her parents and brother.

“I just want you to be happy,” Brenda Oteri told her daughter.  “We can love our pets. But you need to be IN love.”

Brenda appeared shocked when Renee admitted she hadn’t expressed her love for Juan Pablo out loud to him yet.

“That’s crazy,” she said.

In a teary rose ceremony back at the Bachelor mansion, Juan Pablo eliminated single mom Renee.

“The Bachelor” resumes tonight on ABC with all of the drama from the “fantasy suite”
