Shailene Woodley,
American actress, is not shy about sharing her affection for an alternative
lifestyle. “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” starlet revealed that she
spent time as a child testing her survival skills in the wild. But besides
for knowing how to make shelter out of some sticks and leaves, the 23-year-old
revealed that she aims to live an eco-friendly life.
Woodley said, “My biggest fear is that people aren’t going to
realize in time that we are nature, and that we need to think about that fact
and respect that fact. People talk about global warming, the oceans, and the
rainforest, and we need to be talking about it, but nothing’s going to change
unless we change ourselves.” Woodley believes change begins with us, and
that if human beings don’t work on their own mental, emotional and physical
well-beings, then the future of the planet is uncertain.
She also admitted to not owning a cell phone, calling it a
“crutch” and divulging that she is not a “big technology person”. She said,
“I’m talking to people more than I’ve ever talked to in my life because I no
longer have that crutch. The more you get away from all the technological buzz,
the more freedom you have.” Woodley is wise beyond her years and is one
young Hollywood star walking the eco-friendly talk.
