ELISABETH MOSS VS. FRED ARMISEN! 'MAD MEN' ACTRESS TALKS MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE TO 'PORTLANDIA' STAR (VIDEO)

Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss is finally speaking out on her short, difficult marriage to Portlandiastar Fred Armisen. The two were married for eight months until their sudden divorce in 2010, but Moss revealed that her time with Armisen was “horrible” and “extremely traumatic." The actress made the surprising comments in a cover interview with New Yorker magazine.
Wearing nothing but a pair of denim overalls on the cover, Moss reflected back on the difficult marriage with Armisen. "I feel like I was really young, and at the time I didn't think that I was that young. It was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible,” said Moss. She previously said in 2012 that "one of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, 'He's so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.'"

Of course, Armisen’s track record speaks for itself: he’s been married and divorced three times. In a 2012 interview with Howard Stern, he admitted being a “terrible husband” and exhibited plenty of self-loathing. "I feel bad for everyone I've gone out with," he said. "Somewhere around a year, two years, I get freaked out. I don't want to admit that (I feel entitled to more women), but that probably is it." Armisen also said his marriage to British singer Molly Timms, which was from 1998-2004, was done "more for her green card.”

Despite the difficulty in her marriage to Armisen, Moss has gotten herself back on track. She will reprise her role as Peggy Olson in the upcoming seventh series of Mad Men and won a Best Actress Golden Globe last January. She also thinks her next relationship will be much healthier. “It turned out for the best,” she said. "I'm glad that I'm not there. I'm glad that it didn't happen when I was 50. I'm glad I didn’t have kids. And I got that out of the way. Hopefully. Like, that's probably not going to happen again."
The first half of the final season of Mad Men premieres on Sunday, April 13 at 10 PM ET/PT on AMC.
